Trinity University Expands Access to Faculty-Only Parking Lots to Staff
Creating a more unified community through faculty and staff shared lots

Last semester the Faculty Senate unanimously voted to share the previously faculty-only parking lots with University staff. This decision reflects the Trinity community’s commitment to inclusivity, equity, and collaboration, and brings together faculty and staff as valuable members of the University.

The new lots that now are designated as “Faculty and Staff Parking by Permit Only” are: Lot C, Lot E, Lot G, and Lot L. This change makes all non-student lots on upper campus available for both faculty and staff now.

In response to this change, TUPD, in collaboration with Strategic Communications and Marketing and Facilities Services, created and installed new parking signs on campus, like the one pictured above. The new signs can be found at the newly designated parking lots. All of the remaining lots throughout the entire campus will also receive the new signage over the next few weeks providing a fresh, cohesive look for the entire campus.

“This was an initiative of the Contingent Faculty Committee of the Senate,” says Judith Norman, Ph.D., professor of philosophy. “We’re committed to ensuring that Trinity fully lives up to its institutional value of Intentional Inclusion, including equity among all faculty and staff. I’m very happy that the members of the Faculty Senate were immediately on board with this proposal.”
